About the Demo
Recorded and written on-the-spot in j. Christian Miller's patent-applied-for NO-FI production aesthetic (that's a joke!), this demo really captures the moment. Features an un-plugged feel with minimal guitars and one vocal take. Made in the project studio out on Persimmon (Georgia, Southern Appalachia, USA!). With all its faults, the production still captures the song.

"This song is about relatioships ending, missed chances at love, lost time, and being overwhelmed with sorrow... missing something that could have been so good..." Says Chris. "With all its problems, this down and dirty production has a great value in capturing lots of creative material, like this song!..."

I could find paradise
in a pair of eyes
if you'd just give the love
that I can really touch

But off the handle you fly
and can no longer deny
I'm not the one you want
never really was

Happy,
I'm so glad that now you can be happy
linger here a while
and burn out my life

Ocean
Do you remember the ocean?
we stood near the edge
part of me still stands

Sorrow
my heart is a fountain of sorrow
I want to touch love
maybe somewhere off tomorrow
maybe somewhere off tomorrow

Well I'm not so brave
my heart caves when faced with your rage
And we throw away
you just turn the page

As you waived your hand high
and laid decree royal and wise
and they chopped off my head
and there it lies

Happy,
now you can go be happy
I linger on a while
burn out the rest of my life

Ocean
Do you remember we slept beside an ocean
and there came a storm
and away love was born

Sorrow
My heart emanates sorrow
just to touch love
Maybe somewhere off tomorrow
Maybe somewhere off tomorrow
Always somewhere off tomorrow
Always somewhere off tomorrow
